Position:        Shop Manager                                            Business Unit:    Crane Energy Flow Solutions

Segment:       Fluid Handling                                             Location:             Houston, Texas         

Reports To:   Site Leader                                                  Department:        Operations

Basic Function:

The Shop Manager is responsible for the day to day shop floor activities in all value streams excluding Field Service and providing strong leadership to cell leaders and production employees.  This position will coordinate and direct all operation related activities on a daily basis and be responsible for Safety, Cost, Quality, and Delivery.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Support safe work environment
• Lead Toolbox meetings when required
• Schedule labor in accordance with customer requirements
• Ensure Cell Leaders daily update and maintain accurate production boards
• Attend daily management walks and present production boards when cell leader is unavailable
• Implement and maintain good housekeeping practices
• Maximize equipment utilization
• Maintain effective communication with internal and external customers
• Attend customer turnaround planning meetings
• Track plant data
• Lead and participate in project work
• Implement and follow standard work
• Lead and participate in Kaizen events
• Maintain Kan Ban systems and work flow
• Coordinate plant priorities with Customer Service
• Adhere to the Quality Policy
• Maintain and approve employee's hours in Time & Attendance and eTime
• Provide constraint management
• Manage departmental policies and procedures
• Ensure talent development

Qualifications & Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience
• Minimum five (5) years supervisory experience required
• Mechanical or technical experience required; experience in valve industry preferred
• Lean manufacturing experience is preferred
• Must have a thorough knowledge of software - Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
